I started my employment with OBW Technologies back in March 2022 as part of my Co-Op placement from Technical University of the Shannon. As I was studying Electrical Engineering, I got vast experience and insight into the industry working with the Engineering team here at OBW. I then went back to college to finish my degree before returning to OBW in September 2023.

A day working as a Junior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer may involve a range of different tasks such as, conducting client site walkdowns to survey upcoming works, reviewing tender documents and developing a system design as part of a projects team, and producing wiring diagrams & schematics.

As we design Gas Detection Systems for a lot of multinational Pharma and Food & Beverage producers it is a great experience for me to be able to work on such projects from design concept through to commissioning and project handover to clients, all while working with different departments to ensure the project is delivered.

The company has grown massively since I first started out on work placement back in 2022, nearly doubling the workforce in that short space of time. OBW Technologies is a great place to work, as JJ & Sharon provide a workplace that is enjoyable and enables employees to progress and learn.
